The Jaguar XFR is a four door sedan manufactured by Jaguar Cars and set to reach dealers by 2010. The XFR is essentially an updated, improved version of the popular XF sedan, also by Jaguar. The XFR is will be in the category of “Super Sedans” (eg. sedans that are built to handle and perform like supercars), and is expected to be an excellent challenger for cars such as the American made Cadillac CTS-V, the new BMW M5, the Audi S6, and the Mercedes E63 AMG sedan. The XFR will run alongside inter-company sedans like the XF as mentioned earlier, and the XJ concept that will also be debuted in 2010. |

Millechili (Italian for one thousand (mille) kilograms (chili)) is the code name for a sports car, to be manufactured by Ferrari, that will borrow features from Formula One race cars. It will be a lightweight version of the Enzo Ferrari, using the F430's aluminum space frame on a 104.3-inch (2,650 mm) wheelbase. The V10 engine will exceed 600 hp (447 kW). Production of around 300 cars is slated for 2010, with a base price of around US$500,000. Millechili is developed in collaboration with University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Millechili Lab is a cross-project in which students are working on light-weight car design. |

Swedish supercar marquee Koenigsegg and NLV Solar AG, a pioneer in photovoltaic and accumulator technology, have joined forces to create the Koenigsegg Quant. The brainchild of this marriage of power and energy is a four-seater solar electric car. A full-scale model is to be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Salon, with the two companies currently working on running prototypes to scale up for series production. |
